La aceleración pura es un problema resuelto. El desafío ahora es la comunicación. Hyundai abrió la puerta hace unos años con el Ioniq 5 N, pero Porsche ha llegado con una filosofía muy diferente. No intentan emular una DCT genérica; intentan digitalizar el alma del pasado mecánico de Stuttgart. La ingeniería: Cómo falsificar una caja de cambios
Dejemos de lado el marketing superficial y analicemos el flujo de la señal. Al accionar la palanca de dirección, la Unidad de Control del Vehículo (VCU) no solo emite un sonido. Envía una orden al inversor trasero para invertir momentáneamente el flujo de par o reducir la corriente a cero durante aproximadamente 150-200 milisegundos.
Esto crea una sensación física de "cabeceo". En los modelos 2026, Porsche ha mapeado esta interrupción del par a las RPM de la marcha simulada. Un cambio a 8000 RPM simuladas impacta con más fuerza que uno a 3000, imitando la curva de par de un motor de combustión.
Desde la perspectiva del BMS, esto es fascinantemente ineficiente. Uso en el mundo real: La prueba del cañón
Llevé el coche a la autopista Angeles Crest para probar con furia los cambios de marcha falsos de los Porsche EV. En un EV estándar, entrar en curva es un juego de adivinanzas de ruido de neumáticos y fuerza G. No tienes el paso del motor que te diga si vas a 64 o 96 km/h.
Con las marchas simuladas puestas, eso cambia. Me vi reduciendo a 2.ª antes de una horquilla. El motor zumbaba al subir el paso, el frenado regenerativo era un poco más fuerte (simulando la compresión del freno motor) y sabía exactamente cuánta tracción tenía disponible al salir.
Soluciona la "desconexión de videojuego" que a menudo critico en los EV modernos. El coche comunica mejor la transferencia de carga porque te da un punto de referencia, incluso si ese punto de referencia es una mentira digital. El peso de la dirección incluso parece vibrar ligeramente con las RPM, aunque eso podría deberse a los excitadores del chasis que vibran en la columna.
El factor decisivo: la realidad del tráfico
Aquí es donde la ilusión se rompe. En el tráfico congestionado de la 405, dejar el sistema activado es una pesadilla. El comportamiento simulado del "embrague" a baja velocidad (acelerando lentamente entre 0 y 8 km/h) intenta imitar una transmisión de doble embrague agresiva. Se sacude.
¿Para qué simular lo peor de un coche de gasolina? Para ser auténtico, Porsche programó la vibración a baja velocidad. Me vi obligado a rebuscar frenéticamente en los menús para desactivarla cada vez que me encontraba con un atasco. A diferencia del Ioniq 6 N, que por defecto tiene una aceleración suave a menos que esté en modo N, el sistema Porsche, cuando está activo, se mantiene firme, para bien o para mal.
Además, mis registros de datos mostraron un pico térmico en el inversor durante sesiones de "cambios" agresivos. La rápida conmutación de corriente genera calor. Está dentro de los límites de seguridad, pero estás sometiendo a un estrés térmico a tu electrónica de potencia por pura nostalgia.
Como ingeniero, debería odiar esto. Complica la lógica del sistema de propulsión y reduce a propósito el par motor instantáneo que hace superiores a los vehículos eléctricos. ¿Pero como conductor? No puedo desactivarlo. Los cambios de marcha falsos del Porsche EV aportan un ritmo a la conducción del que carece la aceleración lineal. Convierte el coche de un medio de transporte a una máquina que hay que manejar. Si compras un vehículo eléctrico de alto rendimiento de 2026, ya no pagas por el tiempo de 0 a 100 km/h, sino por la sensación. Porsche lo sabe. Solo recuerda desactivarlo antes de llegar a la hora punta.
